![]() I just installed 14929 mini on my WRT54GSv2 to do this so I won't leave out any steps. Should be set in G-Only and bridged to a G-Only or NG mixed device. Modes but I have connected G-only mode to NG mixed mode routers. If device you want to bridge to isn't using WPA2 AES you should change it so it does.ģ. It is ALWAYS best to use WPA2 with AES Algorithms. Wireless SSID and security password of the router or AP you want to connect to. You'll find its network range - I ain't getting into all that here.Ģ. Subnet mask then google yourself a subnet calculator and put in its IP & subnet mask and Network's IP range - if you are connecting to anything that doesn't have a 255.255.255.0 Network's range as long as it's not currently being used by another device. It is generally advised to use an IP out of the main routersĭHCP range. if you want to bridge to a router or an AP Knowing the IP & subnet mask of what we want to bridge to tells us what IP we can IP address of router or AP (access point) and its subnet mask you want to bridge with. Three things you must know before you start:ġ. This is for broadcom Repeater Bridge only. Repeater Bridge on a WRT54GS is really a straight forward setup using build 14929 (08/12/10). The fact that I can't seem to login to the Extended Router makes me think I need to start over, eh? I just want to help you clarify your mode of operation, as it may reveal the issue.Įdit: oh, and make sure your main router includes the IP you want to use as a valid range. ![]() I've not used Repeater modes, but mrjcd has a ton of experience w/ it. I don't think the main router (at that time, a WRT54GSv1 running TomatoUSB Toastman) listed it as a client either. ![]() I also was connected directly to the Client Bridge router via LAN, for it. I gather that you're logging into the Repeater via the main router? When I did this on a Client Bridge (same build on a WRT54GSv6), I think I always had to reboot it again to have it reconnect to the main router/AP. I also can't ping it on either the original IP of 1.1, nor the new one I assigned to it (usually 1.99) At that point, I can't log into it any more. The problem seems to be when I re-assign the LAN IP on the Extended router. It's not 192.168.1.3-16 where you might also have conflicts I'm heading to a job fair, but will try that when I get back and update.ģ. I have a Linksys WRT54GS (ver 1) and downloaded and configured dd-wrt in Repeater Bridge Mode. Posted: Wed 5:16 Post subject: Re: Linksys WRT54GS in Repeater Bridge Mode
